On April 28, we will celebrate the International Jazz Day in the Club Association!
The International Jazz Day in Latvia will bring together the brightest representatives of Latvian and Estonian jazz on its stage to go on an amazing musical journey and immerse yourself in the world of wonderful jazz surprises. The variety of directions that the musicians will present on one stage will allow everyone to find something of their own, unique.
Throughout the evening, the audience will be surprised by exciting musicians – Inese Bērzina Quartet,
Miķelis Dzenuška and “Uzvaras Bulvāris”, as well as the joint project of Latvian and Estonian musicians – “Ruslan Px and Funcoolio”.
Event program:
Ruslan Px and FunCOOLio – is the new collaborative project of the Estonian composer Ruslan Px and the Latvian funk/fusion band FunCOOLio. The concert will include the premiere of the composition from the album “Ruslan Px and FunCOOLio plays Bossa Nova (2023)” and the presentation of the vinyl record;
Inese Bērziņa Quartet was created in 2017, bringing together people who love jazz music. In 2021, Inese released her debut album, while this year a mini-album with four songs in Latvian – Sējējs was released. You will hear the repertoire of both albums at the concert;
Miķelis Dzenuška and “Uzvaras Bulvāris” is a funk/fusion band from Riga. The ensemble was created on the initiative of Miķelis Dzenuška, bringing together 8 friends and fellow students in 2021 to pursue new combinations of sounds and a wider sound pallette. At the concert, you will hear composition from the upcoming album, which will be released in vinyl format, as well as other original compositions.
The jazz atmosphere will be created by DJ Denis Funk, playing vinyl records.
Listeners will be able to enjoy the concert, there will be an open bar with drinks and snacks.
A free atmosphere where you can discuss what you have seen and meet the artists. The brightest jazz event of the spring!
