Latvian band Baltā Klints has released its first album. The beginnings of the group can be traced back to the Smagais Vilnītis project. The songs included in this album were played for the first time on July 14, 2014 at the Origo Summer Stage. They were sung by Jānis Strazdiņš, the current group members Miķelis Vanags, Vilnis Kundrats, Artis Orubs played in the accompanying group. Later, Jānis Strazdiņš joined the Swedish group The Real Group, so the cooperation stopped. In 2015, Miķelis Vanags, Kristiāns Kosītis and Artūrs Sedriks Sinkevičs, who were friends from school days, staged this repertoire and performed it in Jumurda on April 25. After that, regular rehearsals and performances began with the following company: Miķelis Vanags (voice, guitar), Kristians Kosītis (bass), Artūrs Sedriks Sinkevičs and Artis Orubs (drums), Vilnis Kundrats (Hammond C-3 organ) under the name Boogie Drivers. Then the Latvian name Baltā Klints was born and the band started performing original music in Latvian. The texts of the “young long-haired poets” of the 70s-80s of the 20th century – Klāvs Elsberg, Egils Zirnias, Pēteras Brūvers, Jānis Rokpeļņis and the classics – Rainis, Imantas Ziedonis, Knuts Skujenieks were used. The author of the music is Vilnis Kundrats. The band uses both original Hammond organs and classic tube amplifiers for guitar and other vintage equipment to achieve the necessary atmosphere and overall sound characteristic of rock music. The sound director of the group’s album is Dāvis Pauls Megi, the author of the photographs is Gunārs Binde, the design is Mikus Čavarts.
